Beschreibung

Su Yu Hsin is a Berlin-based artist and filmmaker whose work approaches ecology and its close relationship with technology. Investigating the political ecologies of water, her research-oriented artistic practice examines technology and the critical infrastructure in which the human and non-human converge.

The evening’s program features excerpts from Su’s Particular Waters video trilogy (2023-2026). These essay films trace the activities of the multinational semiconductor manufacturing company TSMC from its headquarters in Hsinchu, Taiwan to its expanding onshore operations in Phoenix, AZ, USA and Dresden, Germany.

Particular Waters has been widely screened in Europe and abroad, including at venues such as the Galerie für Zeitgenössische Kunst Leipzig, Taipei Biennial 2023, and Shedhalle Zürich.

The screening is followed by a conversation with Dr. Mario Bianchini, Research Associate at the Leibniz Centre for Contemporary History Potsdam (ZZF).
