Open Access Week 2020

Activitites and events at Humboldt-Universität: coffee lectures, consultation hours, Open Access Award, and more from 19 to 25 October 2020

This year's international Open Access Week takes place from 19 to 25 October. This year's motto is 'Open with Purpose: Taking Action to Build Structural Equity and Inclusion'. Once again, institutions from all over the world are participating in order to draw attention to open access and thus to free access to knowledge and information in science and research – and again, Humboldt-Universität takes part too.

From 19 to 23 October, the university library is holding daily online coffee lectures (a format of quick workshops) and consultation hours on various topics relating to open access. All interested parties are invited to attend, no registration is required.

Open-Access-Award

In addition to promoting funding opportunities and various information tools, the Open Access Award of Humboldt-Universität will be announced for the first time. This prize, which will be awarded annually from now on, honours outstanding or exceptional achievements by scientists at Humboldt-Universität concerning open access and is endowed with a prize money of €5,000.
