The Berlin School of Mind and Brain is delighted to announce a limited number of travel awards for students who are interested in exploring the possibility of doctoral studies at the School. The award will cover travel expenses to Berlin and accommodation for four nights from 17-21 October 2016. Awardees will have ample opportunities to meet with the School’s faculty and doctoral candidates, establish contacts relevant for their research interest, see the School’s facilities and get a better sense of the city itself.

The Berlin School of Mind and Brain is an international and interdisciplinary graduate research school. The focus of research at the School is on the interface between the humanities and behavioral sciences with the neurosciences. Main topics of research are: ‘perception, attention, consciousness’, ‘decision-making’, ‘language’, ‘brain plasticity and lifespan ontogeny’, ‘mental disorders and brain dysfunction’, and ‘human sociality and the brain (social cognition)’.

Driven by the idea that the most challenging problems concerning the human mind require the co-operation of numerous disciplines in brain science and the humanities, the Berlin School of Mind and Brain was founded in 2006 as an interdisciplinary graduate institution. Its mission is to train outstanding young scientists in the entire scope of mind and brain research and to sharpen the international profile of the research community in the greater Berlin area.

The Deadline for applications is 30 June 2016.
