The National University of Singapore and Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin, Freie Universität and Technische Universität Berlin have pledged to reinforce their network of research alliance, established in 2018, by launching a new collaborative research program. In this light, the four partner institutions in Berlin and Singapore have agreed to allocate funding for a seed grant call. Due to the existing strong academic and research bonds between Berlin and Singapore in the fields of Mathematics, Materials Science, Social Cohesion, as well as Life Sciences, special attention will be given to project proposals from these fields.

Within the 2019 round of Call for Proposals, and in addition to principal research funds, researchers have the possibility to apply for funds to conduct workshops and/or short-term research trips. Travel costs for principal researchers as well as their doctoral and post-doctoral fellows can also be funded. Researchers in Singapore and Berlin, who are planning to conduct a mutual research project, can apply to this fund here. Application deadline is June 3, 2019. Successful applicants can start their projects on August 1, 2019.
