Update on the statement: End of the occupation of the Institute of Social Sciences
Following the eviction of the Institute of Social Sciences in Universitätsstraße 3b on Thursday evening, the damage assessment in the institute's premises began today, 24 May. Careful documentation and preservation of evidence is necessary, as this will form the basis for any follow-up measures such as criminal proceedings.
As the extent of the damage is considerable, the university is filing a criminal complaint. In addition, the university is pressing criminal charges for the use of symbols of a banned organisation (Hamas). This also includes graffiti and smearings such as the red triangle.
The university will not file criminal charges for trespassing against students who left the institute voluntarily and in company after the discussion event. All other squatters will be charged with trespassing.
