These also characterise the development of new scientific fields at the interfaces of research in various disciplines. For its research, Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin utilises the opportunities offered by the Berlin-Brandenburg science location for intensive cooperation with numerous non-university research institutions and is well networked both nationally and internationally.
