Interdisciplinary Centres
The Interdisciplinary Centres (ICs) of the Humboldt-Universität serve as platforms and networks for communication and collaboration between researchers. The centres conduct interdisciplinary research and thus play a major role in shaping the University’s research profile. The temporary funding means that the ICs are able to consolidate work on research priorities for a certain period of time. ICs also allow Humboldt-Universität to support the expansion of existing third-party-funded projects. In addition, Collaborative Research Centres and Research Training Groups can be extended beyond the existing structures and permanently integrated into new or further fields at Humboldt-Universität.
