DFG Research Centres
By supporting Research Centres, the DFG aims to foster those research hubs which are active in particularly innovative fields of research and which, due to their size and performance, are of international significance. Eight or ten such centres are to be established throughout Germany; to date six have been approved. In Berlin, the DFG has funded the Mathematics Research Centre since 2002.
