Science of Intelligence (ScIoI)
Project overview
Understanding intelligence in its entirety is one of the great scientific challenges of our time. The Cluster of Excellence “Science of Intelligence” (SCIoI) seeks to explore the principles shared by all forms of intelligence, whether artificial or biological. This goal is to be achieved through the combination of analytical and synthetic approaches, where all theories, insights, concepts, and methods flow into technological artefacts, such as robots or computer programmes. The interdisciplinary exchange enabled by this process leads to the validation and interconnection of research results, taking ethical considerations into account. The research findings will contribute to creating new intelligent technologies that can be used to benefit society in a variety of areas. The integrated graduate program plays a key role in training a new generation of interdisciplinary intelligence researchers.
Science of Intelligence is a Cluster of Excellence jointly applied for by the Technische Universität Berlin and the Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin, with the Technische Universität Berlin as speaker.
Its partners are the Freie Universität Berlin, the University of Potsdam, the Charité - Universitätsmedizin Berlin, and the Max Planck Institute for Human Development.
