Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin

Third-party funded research

Grant research is publicly funded collaborative projects between science and industry that aim to generate new scientific or technical knowledge or improve existing knowledge standards and technologies. Topic-specific and open-topic funding programs support the implementation of research and innovation projects. The results benefit both research and industry and are made available to the general public.

Good reasons for research cooperation

There are many good reasons for companies to enter into collaborations with the university, including if your company:

  • does not have the appropriate know-how in a particular field or does not have its own R&D department
  • is researching and developing innovative technologies, processes or materials
  • is interested in additional funding for innovation development
  • would like to position itself as an attractive employer for students or graduates and build strategic partnerships with researchers
