Doctoral Candidates

Enrollment takes place after admission by the faculty. Doctoral students are enrolled without regard to the regular deadlines; enrollment can take place at any time during the semester. The application must be submitted within one month after the notification of admission to doctoral studies by the faculty.
 
Information on Enrollment for doctoral studies (regulations and required documents)

Doctoral candidates must pay semester tuition fees. At the time of registration, proof must be provided for the payment of semester tuition fees. This fee is comprised of:

• the standard fee for the Studentenwerk
• the fee for the student union (Studentenschaft)
• Proof of payment of the matriculation fee, in accordance with state budget laws
• the fee for the semester ticket for public transport

Note on the semester ticket for doctoral students:

Doctoral students do not necessarily have to purchase the semester ticket, the corresponding amount will be deducted from the semester fees upon request. Please address your application for exemption to the enrollment office of Humboldt-Universität.
