Covid-19 Rapid Test Centres
All members of the University - employees and students - as well as visiting scientists etc. can be tested twice a week in the auditorium of the Jacob and Wilhelm Grimm Centre, or at Rudower Chaussee 24 in Adlershof. Medically trained staff conduct rapid tests there from Monday to Friday from 7 am to 6 pm. After the nasopharyngeal swab, the test result is available about 15 minutes later. If the work in presence requires it, testing can also be done more often.

How can I get tested?
A test is possible after booking an appointment in advance. This is the procedure:
- Book appointment
- Arrive on time and prove identity at the registration desk
- Have a nasopharyngeal swab taken
- Retrieve findings 15 minutes later in encrypted form by e-mail
Please note
- Around 15 minutes before the quick test, test persons should refrain from brushing their teeth, eating, drinking, smoking, chewing gum, sucking sweets, gargling or similar.
- Of course, the university does not receive any knowledge about the test result. In the event of a positive result, the regulations of the Infection Protection Measures Ordinance must be complied with on one's own responsibility (self-isolation, confirmatory PCR testing, etc.).
- The test time is counted as working time.
Who can get tested?
In principle, the test centre is open to the public. Thus, in addition to members of the HU, employees of neighbouring scientific institutions such as the BBAW or the IQB are also tested in the HU test centres.
Information for members of Humboldt-Universität
According to the current Infection Protection Measures Ordinance of the State of Berlin, employees are not obliged to make use of the testing option. However, regular testing to contain the coronavirus is expressly recommended.
The offer of testing is not accompanied by an increase in attendance work. In order to contain the pandemic and for the personal protection of employees, tasks that are possible and reasonable to complete in the home office should be completed in the home office. Planning is done in consultation between supervisors and employees.
A negative test result does not replace the other protection and hygiene measures. The obligations to maintain distances, wear masks, ventilate extensively, etc. remain in place.
Special note for students
Students who want to take part in compulsory practice formats or presence examinations must present a negative test certificate that is not older than 24 hours. The test centres are also available for this purpose.
