Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin

Grade Converter of HU Berlin

The Grade Convertion System (in German, Notenumrechnungssystem NUS+) is a tool for conversion the international acquired module marks/grades* into German grades. The Grade Converter contains a lot of relevant information on foreign grading scales, and can be particularly helpful for the Examination Boards, the course advisers and the students of HU Berlin. Towards better usability it has been applicated to the AGNES.

The calculation method for grade conversion is based on the so-called Modified Bavarian Formula (in German, Modifizierte bayerische Formel). This corresponds to the recommendation of the Standing Conference of the Ministers of Education and Cultural Affairs of the Länder in the Federal Republic of Germany, and should be used especially if no suitable ECTS Grading Table is available.

Please note that the Grade Converter is only a platform for orientation. Therefore, the grades calculated via the Grade Converter are non-binding.

According to § 110 para. 5 of the General Admission, Study and Examination Regulations of Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin (ZSP-HU), the Examination Boards of the HU Berlin remain responsible for taking the final decision concerning grades.

* We use the English term "grade" also in the sense of module grade.
