Horizon 2020 - Work Programme: Smart, green and integrated transport

The 2018-2020 Work Programme of Horizon 2020 holds many interesting innovation and research opportunities in reference to societal challenges


The priorities identified in this Work Programme will continue to pursue Societal Challenge overall objective of achieving a European transport system that is resilient, resourceefficient, climate- and environmentally-friendly, safe and seamless for the benefit of all citizens, the economy and society.

Funding priorities will be geared towards the present and future needs of citizens, businesses and EU markets, and strive to maximise value for the transport sector, the wider economy and ultimately, the people. These priorities are aimed at creating new opportunities for sustainable growth and employment.

 

Call for Proposals

The activities of this Work Programme will be implemented by three Calls for proposals, the following are a few interesting research and innovative action examples expected:

Call - 2018-2020 Mobility for Growth

  • Cities as climate-resilient, connected multimodal nodes for smart and clean mobility: new approaches towards demonstrating and testing innovative solutions (LC-MG-1-12-2020)
  • Enhancing coordination between Member States' actions in the area of infrastructure research with a particular focus on biodiversity and ameliorating enviornmental impacts and full automated infrastructure upgrade and maintenance (MG-2-10-2020)
  • Digitalisation of the transport system: data sharing (MG-4-7-2020)

 

Call - 2018-2020 Digitising and Transforming European Industry and Services: Automated Road Transport

  • Testing, validation and certification procedures for highly automated driving functions under various traffic scenarios based on pilot test data (DT-ART-01-2018)
  • Human centred design for the new driver role in highly automated vehicles (DT-ART-03-2019)

 

Call - Building a Low-Carbon, Climate Resilient Future: Green Vehicles

  • Virtual product development and production of all types of electrifies vehicles and components (LC-GV-01-2018)
  • Next generation electrified vehicles for urban and suburban use (LC-GV-06-2020)
  • Setting up a common European research and innovation strategy for the future of road transport (LC-GV-09-2020)
