Application for a higher semester
As a rule, Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin will classify students into a higher semester if they submit proof of previous study periods and academic achievements in the same or a related subject area with their application documents and have not yet completed those studies. Please enter "higher semester" next to the degree programme in the application form. You will be placed in a higher semester while your application is being processed by the relevant examination board.
Applicants from an EU or EEA country (Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway) who are already studying in another European country and wish to apply for the same degree programme/subject must apply for the higher semester, as this is a change of university (Hochschulwechsel). It is not possible to apply for the 1st semester in this case.

Please check our course catalogue if the Master's programme you are interested in is also offered for an application for a higher semester.
Based on your international Bachelor's degree your application has to be done via uni-assist like an application for a 1. semester of a Master's programme. Your application has to fulfil the basic requirements for the Master's programmes as an application for the 1. semester. After these requirements are fulfiled the reviewing process about the acknowledgement of achieved credits from the Master's programme which has been started at another university is possible.
