Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin

Cooperation

Scientists’ participation in research networks has always been extremely important for universities. Research networks allow institutions to pool various skills and strengths. This division of labour improves research findings and makes them more innovative. The linking of basic research with application-oriented topics is one example of this. Collaboration with other institutions is also an indicator of the attractiveness of Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin and provides confirmation of its international competitiveness.

It is therefore a key objective of the Humboldt-Universität to intensify and expand these networks of scientific relationships. Collaborations take many different forms – in addition to collaborative research, they may also involve the joint appointments of professors, as well as framework agreements with scientific and research institutions. In this context, the focus is increasingly on collaborative activities with partners from business and industry, and thus on technology transfer in particular.
