Right next to the vibrant life of the Hackesche Höfe, hidden behind a rear courtyard decorated with lush, colourful flowerbeds, is another HU site.
Built between 1878 and 1899 as a tenement house and business property, the building has belonged to the university since 1993. HU’s Cultural Studies academics moved out of the building in 2012 and the premises have been used as the Centre for Jewish Studies ever since. The members of the Image Knowledge Gestaltung. An Interdisciplinary Laboratory cluster of excellence also undertake research here.
