Description
The transfer project "Gamification for Climate Action" combines approaches of subject-related educational research (gamification) with a non-formal learning venue (stakeholder). The transfer itself takes place through the use of a version of the game app "TRAIN 4 Science" adapted in this project with the aim of arousing interest among students in questions about climate change, climate impacts and climate protection and to stimulate individual and social reflections on knowledge, attitudes and actions in a playful and participatory way. This new game app "TRAIN 2 Climate Action" is linked to a learning offer at the location of the Schul-Umwelt-Zentrum Berlin, whereby the experiential confrontation with real phenomena promotes a responsible approach to nature and climate. The content on the topic of climate change relates specifically to Berlin and, in perspective, to the Berlin-Brandenburg metropolitan region. The use of the new game app in connection with the learning offer is to be tested and evaluated with students, further developed accordingly and finally made permanent. Parallel to this integration into teacher training at the Humboldt Universität zu Berlin.
