Registration and participation conditions

On this page, we have compiled a list of the conditions that apply to participation in Career Centre events.

Financial statements

For students on Bachelor's and Master's degree programmes

The credit points from our courses can generally be recognised in the interdisciplinary compulsory elective area (ÜWP). However, it is advisable to enquire at the relevant examination office before registering whether there are any subject-specific restrictions on the selection of courses.

For students of the Faculty of Law

Students on the Law degree programme (degree objective: first legal examination) can acquire credits in the area of "key qualifications" in selected courses. The Examination Board of the Faculty of Law determines which courses are recognised for the acquisition of key qualifications; these courses can be found in the course catalogue of the Faculty of Law and on the page Recognition of key qualifications.

For students on leave of absence

Credit points earned in a Career Centre course during the period of leave of absence cannot generally be credited towards your degree. Please contact the relevant examination office for information on the specific modalities.

For the acquisition of credit points

The number of credit points with which the cross-faculty courses are assessed is the same for all faculties. The awarding of credit points in Career Centre courses is ungraded. Only the total number of credit points possible for the course can be earned; it is not possible to reduce the number of points if the workload is lower. The prerequisite for the acquisition of credit points is regular participation in the courses in accordance with the interdisciplinary statutes governing admission, study and examination at Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin (ZSP-HU) as amended, as well as the provision of individual proof of performance (e.g. in the form of a test or a presentation). This performance record is graded as "passed" or "failed".

Data protection

Use of personal data

The Career Centre of the Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin collects personal data only to the extent that the participants themselves provide it with their knowledge and uses it exclusively for the administration of course participation and the awarding of credit points. Data will only be passed on to third parties without the consent of the participants if the Career Centre is legally obliged to do so. The data protection regulations of the HU apply.

Notes on course registration and certificates

  1. Our courses take place all year round - even during the lecture-free period!
  2. The courses usually take place in block format, all the dates listed are part of a course block and should be attended!
  3. Course registration is only possible on the Career Centre website - not in AGNES!
  4. The registration function is activated approx. 4 weeks before the start of the course. Two weeks before the start of the course, you will be informed whether you have been allocated a place on the list or have been nominated for the waiting list. At the same time, you will be given a password which you can use to confirm or cancel your binding participation. Your place will be forfeited if you do not turn up for the first appointment within 15 minutes of the start of the event (s.t.!).
  5. You can register for a maximum of 3 courses per semester!
If you have registered for several courses taking place at the same time, you are obliged to cancel courses that you will not be attending at the Career Centre at least one week before the start of the course.
  6. If you do not attend the course despite having confirmed your attendance, you will deprive a participant on the waiting list of the opportunity to attend the course. In both cases, this will be registered at the Career Centre and, in the event of a repeat offence, will result in a suspension for one semester.
  7. The certificates will be sent to you as a scan/pdf by e-mail shortly after the end of the course. You can forward this e-mail with the certificate as an attachment to your examination office for credit transfer.
  8. Please always check the Career Centre website before the start of the course to see if there have been any changes to times, rooms etc.
