herzfroh 2.0 – DGS

The project “herzfroh 2.0 – DGS” aims to make the information platform “herzfroh 2.0” – a sexual education website for adolescents with learning difficulties – accessible and tailored to the needs of deaf and hard-of-hearing (DHH) young people. To achieve this, the website will be fully translated into German Sign Language (DGS), expanded in terms of content, and subsequently evaluated together with the target group. In addition, the pedagogical guide will be extended to include the topic of “Adolescents and Young DHH Adults.”
The starting point for the project is the study “Youth Sexuality in the Context of Deafness” which identified significant gaps in the sexual education of young DHH people– including unsafe contraception practices, limited knowledge about protection against sexually transmitted infections, and a strong desire for reliable information resources in DGS. The project “herzfroh 2.0 – DGS” directly addresses these findings.
