Intersectionality is a term that is frequently used in an academic context, but often seems complex and abstract. Essentially, intersectionality describes the interaction of different forms of discrimination. Discrimination, in turn, is closely linked to (mostly unconscious) privileges, i.e. advantages and access to resources.
The Women's General Assembly aims to break down any 'fear of contact' with the term. An interactive workshop will explore the interplay between discrimination and privileged positions. The aim is to highlight how deeply social hierarchies are rooted in our everyday lives. The workshop will create a space for participants to explore, together and in solidarity, the significance of an intersectional perspective for everyday study and work at HU.
