Collaborative Research Centres of the German Research Foundation (DFG)

Collaborative Research Centres (SFBs) at the Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin set innovative and structure-building accents in the various disciplines: they are long-term, generally twelve to fifteen-year university research institutions in which scientists work together within the framework of interdisciplinary research programmes.

Collaborative Research Centres (SFBs) consist of a large number of sub-projects. The number and size of the sub-projects are determined by the research programme of the respective network. The sub-projects are led by individual researchers or jointly by several researchers. The promotion of early career researchers is one of their special tasks (cf. DFG information).
